Publishing a pattern is a statement. It says: I made something worth your time, your fabric, and your trust.
Everything I do is in service of that statement holding up.
I came to pattern services through design, not the other way around. That means I don't just check your math. I check whether your pattern looks and reads like the work you actually put into it. The table border that's one shade off your brand color. The inch mark where a quote mark should be. The diagram that's technically correct but visually confusing at 2am when someone is trying to cut fabric.
These are the things a non-designer misses. I don't.

A full technical review of your pattern, start to finish.
I read it the way a maker reads it, following every instruction, checking every calculation, flagging every moment where clarity breaks down or a seam ripper moment is waiting at step 12.
What's included:
Full InDesign layout from your draft. The kind of finish that makes someone trust your pattern before they've even picked out fabric.
Technical diagrams built from your sketches or descriptions. Accurate, clear, and visually consistent with the rest of your pattern.
Hand-drawn concept to print-ready digital file. A specialty, not an afterthought.
Pattern instructions and blog content written in your voice when the blank page is the thing standing between you and publishing.
Logo, color palette, and typography for designers who are ready to look as professional as they actually are. Adobe only - this isn't a Canva refresh.
Personalized guidance on Illustrator or InDesign for pattern designers who want to own their own production process.
Every project is a little different, and I'd rather scope it right than hand you a number that doesn't fit what you're actually making.
Reach out with your pattern details, like page count, what stage you're at, what you need, and I'll come back with a clear proposal. No surprises, no scope creep.
Chelsey Cobabe, Cobabe Co.

"Sammy is an incredible tech editor! She is thorough, detail-oriented, and consistent. No grammatical, mathematical, nor organizational/formatting error goes unchecked with her eagle-eye vision. Sammy not only provides excellent suggestions to help improve my patterns, she clearly communicates with me regarding any questions I may have about her suggestions. Rather than a 'one and done' review, it's a flow of professional and friendly communication that ensures that my pattern is the best it can be!"

Alison, In The Light Quilts
"I hired Sammy to help me with quilt pattern formatting in Adobe and she did a phenomenal job. Sammy asked questions, listened to exactly what I was needing, set clear expectations, and checked in during the entire process. I am still so new to working with Adobe products that I needed help knowing how to save and send some files and Sammy walked me through it. Not only is she an Adobe expert, she is very enjoyable to work with!"
